Ever since I was fourteen, I’ve been captivated by the enchanting concept of “being in love.” That fascination began while sitting in church, watching the unforgettable love story of Ruth and Boaz dramatized before my eyes.

 

Moved by their story, I eagerly turned to the Bible, seeking out more stories that explored the depths and complexities of love. As I read, I found myself emotionally drawn into a tapestry of relationships: the passionate bond between Jacob and Rachel, the challenging love between Hosea and Gomer, the intense attraction between David and Bathsheba, the unlawful passion play between Shechem and Dinah, the tempestuous desires of Solomon, the devoted partnership of Abraham and Sarah, and the troubled connection between Samson and Delilah. The list felt endless, each story more compelling than the last, and from then on, I knew I wanted to write love stories like those.

Many of these narratives featured not just deep and passionate love, but also reckless desire and unbreakable soul ties. Every story was shaped by its own set of tribulations—blended families, lust, greed, lies, a lack of faith, deception, infidelity, and even murder. The drama was intense and the lessons clear: once love enters your life, challenges are inevitable. No matter how “holy” one might be, the biblical characters prove that adversity comes with love. What I learned from immersing myself in these stories is that when God is present in your relationship, victory is possible. However, when God’s answer is “no,” you must let love go.

Although I write fiction, my characters are rooted in reality. The stories I create reveal the intricate layers of human nature when love captures the heart. They show that even when genuine love resides at home, heartbreak can arrive unexpectedly, and forgiveness has the power to quiet its pain. Being in love means facing conflicts that test the strength of that love. When obstacles appear, don’t turn away simply because you’re hurt. Instead, remain steadfast through forgiveness. After all, with God, isn’t anything possible?
